Air Products provides liquid nitrogen cooling for chemical reactions that require low or cryogenic temperatures. In fine chemical synthesis, the use of temperatures down to -80ºC or even -100ºC can be beneficial for processes that require selective isomerization or to enable highly reactive intermediates to exist long enough to produce good yields. Chemistry with highly reactive gaseous compounds may also require use of cryogenic temperatures.
